Our daughter went through the HyProCure® procedure last summer to correct a deformity in both feet. The deformity was keeping her from walking properly – only 3 of the 5 toes on each foot were making contact with the ground because of the pronation she had. As a result, she was unable to walk steadily.
Marianna was experiencing severe over rotation (dislocation). Balance was a significant problem. The issue was caught at The Family Hope Center. If it had not been caught, Marianna’s mother expected there to be difficulty and pain when weight bearing on feet as she grew. Recommendations from the Family Hope Center and Dr. Picciotti made the family decide to get this procedure for Marianna.
On June 23, 2012, Marianna had the HyProCure® procedure performed on both feet at Dr. Joseph Picciotti’s office in New Jersey. The procedure was quick. By late October, Marianna was experiencing a full recovery (4 months). Her left foot was fully recovered in 2 months. The right foot experienced more pain and issues than left. Marianna was able to begin walking. Marianna had to start from the beginning to learn how to walk again.
After the surgery and recovery period, our daughter went through an adjustment period because she had, in effect, “new feet” given how extensive the deformity was. Now one year later, her stability is greatly improved. All of her toes make contact when she walks and she has the characteristic big toe dig that we were looking for to help make sure that her reflexes were engaging properly. While the recovery period is inconvenient, we are very happy that we had our daughter have the procedure.
Marianna can now walk down hallways. At the time of giving the testimonial, Marianna walked down a hallway at The Family Hope Center. The family recommends the HyProCure® procedure for others. Marianna’s mother has recommended to two other children that have recently gone through the procedure.
